  • Yes! We offer several ways for families to visit our programs, depending on location and age group.

    • Book a tour online for Northriver JK, Sandpiper JK, and Heron Toddlers

    • Register for an Open House for Heron JK and Southlands

    • School-Aged Programs (Heron and Sandpiper): Tours are coordinated directly with the Program Managers. Please email registration@ssocc.ca to arrange a visit.

We look forward to welcoming you and showing you our learning spaces.

  • Yes. Our Parent Handbook is shared with families once a child has been offered a space in one of our programs. It provides detailed information about daily routines, policies, and what to expect as part of the SSOCC community.

You can also read our parent handbook here.

If you have specific questions, we’re always happy to help—please reach out to registration@ssocc.ca

  • Families are invited to meet their child’s teacher after a space has been accepted and a few weeks before the child’s start date. This typically happens through a welcome meeting or during classroom visits scheduled prior to beginning gradual entry.

If you attend a classroom tour or open house, you will meet the manager for that specific child care program. The manager is the core teacher for the classroom.

Ongoing opportunities to connect with educators are built into the year through daily communication, scheduled meetings, and community events.

  • The ACCB is a provincial benefit that helps eligible families reduce their child care fees.

    Here’s how to apply:

    1. Apply directly through the Province of B.C.
Applications are submitted online or by mail to the Affordable Child Care Benefit program.

    2. Have your documents ready.
You’ll need information such as proof of income, your child care provider’s details, and your child’s start date.

    3. Choose SSOCC as your provider.
Once approved, the benefit is paid directly to SSOCC and we apply that amount to reducing your fees.

    4. Renew as required.
ACCB is time-limited and must be renewed to continue receiving support.

If you need help with the process or have questions about how ACCB works with your program, please contact registration@ssocc.ca. We’re happy to support you.

  • The registration paperwork will require you to have contact information for an emergency contact, an out-of-province emergency contact, your child’s doctor, your child’s dentist, and your child’s immunization records.

If your child has a diagnosis or medication needs, a medical care plan and/or medication administration permission form are additionally required, however, these can be completed after registering, but prior to your first day of attendance.

  • To secure a space, families are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of 150.00 and a refundable security deposit of half a month tuition. These fees confirm your acceptance of the space and allow us to finalize enrollment.

Details about timelines, and how the deposit is applied or refunded are outlined in our parent handbook, which is sent to parents along with the registration offer.

If you have questions before accepting a space, please contact registration@ssocc.ca

  • Tuition fees are paid monthly, and one month in advance. For example, September tuition is due and payable on August 1.

Payments are typically withdrawn automatically at the beginning of each month using direct debit.

If you have questions about billing or payment arrangements, please contact billing@ssocc.ca

  • To ensure smooth operations and fair treatment of all families, please adhere to the following withdrawal policy:

    1. We required two full calendar months’ written notice to withdraw from any SSOCC program.

    2. Notice must be submitted in writing to our registration manager via email: registration@ssocc.ca

    3. Notice must be given on or before the last day of a month to count as one full month. Example: Notice given April 30 → Last day of care is June 30

    4. Withdrawals and the child’s last day of possible attendance always take effect on the last calendar day of the month.  While you may choose to end your child’s attendance mid month, the withdrawal is processed for the last calendar day of the month.

    5. This withdrawal policy applies only to children who have already begun attendance in SSOCC programs.

Inadequate withdrawal once attendance has started:

If two full calendar months’ notice is not provided:

    1. Your security deposit will be forfeited

    2. You will still be responsible for the full two months’ tuition

    3. You are welcome to have your child attend the program during that two month period

    Withdrawal before attendance has started:

    1. Families who accept a space in our programs but decide not to attend / withdraw prior to attending their first registered day and provide at least one full calendar month notice will forfeit their security deposit.

    2. Families who accept a space in our programs but decide not to attend / withdraw prior to attending their first registered day and provide less than one full calendar month notice will forfeit their security deposit and their first months’ tuition.  Families are welcome to send their child to attend during the month that they have paid tuition for.
