24.00 - 25.00 / hour + 4% vacation pay
If the candidate holds a valid BC ECE license, this position is additionally eligible for Wage Enhancement
Eligibility
This position is a summer position and subject to the conditions of Canada Summer Jobs (HRDC) funding,.
Applicants must be available to work for the entire contract period, 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday
As per the conditions of Canada Summer Jobs Grant Funding, youth applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this position:
be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment*;
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
*The youth must be a minimum of 18 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
**The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
***International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are also ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
Overview
Our programs are primarily outdoors, and so you must be prepared to work outdoors with children for the majority of each day.
This position is for our Heron School Aged Care Daycamp Manager.
The Daycamp Manager provides direct care to children within the SSOCC child care programs over our summer program (June 29 - August 31). You will have standard knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework, Child Care Licensing Regulations and Act, and child development and learning.
You are responsible to lead the daycamp program and practice as well as the Centre practice to meet or exceed recognized assessment standards. You will also contribute to the professional identity of the Centre, raising the quality of the education program and practice.
You will establish authentic and positive relationships with children and families to ensure positive outcomes for all children.
This daycamp program takes public transit throughout Richmond. You must be comfortable swimming with children, hiking with children, and taking public transit with children.

-at least 1 year working within school aged programs
-at least 1 summer working within summer daycamp programs
-experience managing a summer daycamp program is an asset

We are willing to consider Candidates looking for this role to be a paid practicum placement, however all contract terms still apply, regardless of practicum hours, dates, and expectations.
