The whole day smells like ginger. We head downtown in the morning to see the gingerbread display — dozens of houses built by bakers and designers, each one different, with details children will spot that adults walk right past. Back at the studio after lunch, everyone builds their own: walls first, then the roof, then as much candy as the house can hold. Children take their houses home at the end of the day, with a warning about how fragile they are.
Please pack: lunch, water bottle, and warm layers for the trip downtown.
